2900 Series Operator Interface

The 2900 Series operator interface is specifically designed for use with compact programmable controllers.It enables the operator to easily view and change values in the PLC system without having to learn address and data formats unique to the PLC.

The 2900 is fully programmable using ScreenMaker Windows based off-line software which is provided free of charge. The control designer can customize each screen to fit the current application. Text and data can be combined in order to eliminate the need for the operator to know the origin of the data being displayed. Text can be combined with eight variable fields coming from any data location internal to the PLC. In addition, the values can be scaled and displayed in various formats. Variables can also be defined as read only or read/write thus allowing for system protection.

Features:

• 40 Character (2x20) LCD, 0.22" high characters. Bright LED back light provides high contrast display. LCD contrast is adjustable from the front panel. A vacuum fluorescent version is also available
• Up to 500 screen are securely stored in 38K Flash memory.
• Operator can navigate from screen to screen and/or the PLC can control navigation.
• High/Low data limits eliminating the potential for erroneous data being entered.
• Eight bit scale value allows raw data to be displayed in engineering units the operator understands.
• Data values from the PLC can be shown in decimal, binary, hex, or ASCII.
• PLC controlled security locks provide various levels of protection.
• Dual screen triggers allow fault messages to temporarily display without losing the original screen.
• Communication drivers are downloaded using a utility within the ScreenMaker 2000 software package.

ScreenMaker 2000 Configuration Software

The ScreenMaker 2000 installation program is provided as a ZIP file.To download the zip file using Internet Explorer, right-click on the icon then choose Save Target As. To install the program on your computer, first unzip the file then start the .exe program from the windows RUN menu. Setup will install the program in the directory of your choice and create program links in the program manager. This program is designed to run under Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

ScreenMaker is used to download product firmware and project files you create into the 2900. Here is a Quick Reference to help guide you through this process.

The LCD contrast can be adjusted using the keypad on the 2900. Here is a Quick Reference to show you how.
